On February 17, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (also known as the economic stimulus bill) into law.  This legislation combines spending and tax incentives designed to get the American economy moving again by investing in our nation's roads and energy infrastructure, and by providing incentives for increasing the efficiency and performance of America's homes and commercial buildings.  Access www.recovery.gov for the full law.

 

How does it affect a Trane dealer?

Specifically for HVAC contractors, this economic stimulus makes important changes to existing tax incentives for homeowners who make qualified improvements of higher-efficiency HVAC systems to their primary residences.  Homeowners who purchase HVAC systems to improve their home's energy efficiency will qualify for a tax credit as high as $1500.

 

You can now offer your customers even more reason to upgrade equipment or purchase a new heating and cooling system for their home this year. Trane already offers systems that can save your customers as much as 60% on their energy usage.  In addition, Trane offers many products that are eligible for the new energy tax credit, adding even more savings to the equation for homeowners considering a new heating and cooling system.
